Buzzd Real-Time iPhone City Guide

Real-time local information is powering the next wave of mobile apps, giving mobile advertisers the opportunity to target potential customers in the moment. Today, following app success on BlackBerry devices, real-time social city guide for mobile buzzed launched its free app for Apple’s iPhone and iTouch.
The buzzd app aggregates activity from Twitter, buzzd, and other real-time sources to tell you what’s cool and nearby at any given moment at “1.5 million venues across the US and Canada.” iPhone users simply need to load the program while the app brings a list of popular venues near their location based on the most discussed ones on Twitter and Buzzd, reports TechCrunch. When a user clicks on a particular place, they get a detailed description including its phone number, the distance from the user’s place and a few other details. Reportedly, users need to create an account on Buzzd and sign up, however users can also access the service without creating an account if they are not interested in buzzing data.
Apparently, users can also plug into their GPS and quickly find the latest events in their vicinity which is made easier owing to the local search helps. Users can also send a ‘buzz’ about a place that they have visited recounting their experience and even send it via Twitter. Buzzd app for the BlackBerry was introduced earlier and now with iPhone entering into this arena the ‘buzz’ is likely to be greater.
The Buzzd iPhone app can be downloaded for free from the Apple App Store.
